To continue the previous post-
Friday night, Eric and I went to the Stephenie Meyer books signing. It was insane. Eric and I got to the venue at 5 pm. It was scheduled to start at 7 pm. Of the 24 rows in the auditorium, we were in the 16th row. *sigh* The audience consisted mostly of women my age and older. Some of them were even dressed in costumes. They were screaming and chanting. Poor Eric. I think that he was one of 20 men in the throng of surging estrogen. Stephenie Meyer spoke for 20 minutes and then started the book signing. Each row of the audience was called up one at a time to have the books signed. I am absolutely serious when I say that after almost 2 hours, only 5 rows were cleared. We were going to have to sit there for another 5 HOURS! The funny part is that Rachel was sitting with us. She had been having contractions off and on, so the ladies behind us told the usher that she was contracting and we got to go to the front of the line. Stephenie Meyer pleaded with her NOT to have the baby there. Rachel said that she would name the baby Bella, and Stephenie replied, "NO, name her Alice. Alice is a great name and deserves a come back." Those of you who have read Twilight will understand this. So we all got out of there much earlier than expected. Stephenie Meyer in person was much different than I had imagined her... much heavier.
So although I had been really excited about the event, it was pretty much a disappointment. Oh well.

Bella is a great name! However, I suggest "Anna Bella" instead. It just sounds better when you're mad and have to use the childs full name. 2.5 years later and I'm not totally sold that our Bella "gets it" when we revert to the full name calling when she's in big trouble.

We're kinda confused...
You got to meet your favorite author, get your book(s) signed, have a personal conversation with her AND got to skip 5 hours of waiting in line...
That's not disappointing...sounds like a dang good ending to us!! :)
p.s. we don't think she's too heavy...but only Sydney's actually met her :)
OK.. thought that I should clarify. I don't think Stephenie is too heavy, but she wasn't as slender as I pictured her. I think I was disappointed because I was taking care of Rachel and didn't get to have any personal conversation with Stephenie at all. Eric picked up my books while I was escorting Rachel off the stage. So it felt anticlimactic. So I was glad that I didn't have to wait 5 more hours, but the 4 hours I had already waited seemed long. Still love Twilight though. :)
